Patrick has done volunteer work for 20 years and has received awards from Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Boys & Girls Club. His work has also included service on an AIDS awareness committee in Boston and on a fundraising committee of a domestic violence shelter in Dallas. He recently finished eight years of volunteer tutoring at a Dallas Boys & Girls Club. Students he tutored from third grade to high school graduation were accepted to every college they applied to and they were awarded scholarships. Patrick was was honored as Boys & Girls Club’s Top 100 Volunteers, and he was invited to serve on the board. In his volunteer work with Big Brothers Big Sisters, he mentored the same boy for seven years, helping him with his homework and enrolling him in a local Boy Scout troop. For his efforts he was named Big Brother of the Year in 2010. Below are some photos chronicling his time as a Big Brother mentor.
